Session a)
How Storyline can make a contribution to effective teaching about the body in early primary education

In the lecture results from my PhD research about the development of children's ideas about the body will be discussed and how children´s ideas and experience can be used as a starting point for learning. The emphasis will also be on the importance of social interaction and different teaching methods and also on how the quiet pupils can be involved. How this all fits into the storyline approach as a design for effective teaching and learning will also be discussed.
