In the mid 80s a Scottish adviser, Mairi Bell MacLeod, was appointed as a consultant to the Ministry of Education in Bahrain. The project focussed on the study of methodologies for early education and the Jordanhill staff tutor team was invited to run a series of workshop courses over a period of ten days in Manama, the capital city of Bahrain. This proved to be so successful that sixteen teachers were sent to Jordanhill for a six-week study tour the following summer.
