Another group to show interest was the Service Children’s Education Authority which organised teachers in the schools catering for children of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel stationed all over the world. Their interest and enthusiasm led to many invitations and foreign visits. Eventually, three tours were made to Service Schools in Hong Kong.
In the mid-80s Service schools were much reduced in number and all those in Hong Kong were closed down. However, two later tours were made there at the invitation of the English Schools Foundation of Hong Kong. This association consists of a group of ten independent schools, supported by the Hong Kong government and using English as the teaching language.
